July Photo of the Month and Big News
Kudos to Westmoor Park!
Westmoor Park has been chosen as a destination for the Hartford-area bus tour conducted by the American Community Garden Association during its 38th annual conference, July 27-30 in Hartford. This distinction comes as a result of Westmoor Park’s commitment to community gardening and in particular, it’s Plant-A-Row program, which provides approximately 2,000 pounds of produce each year for those in need. The conference will include fifty-five workshops on all aspects of community gardening, eight tours of impressive gardening locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts, a film night and a Saturday evening gala. For ACGA conference information and registration, please call 877-ASK-ACGA or visit https://communitygarden.org/conference/registration/.
Jane Gottier is the director of Westmoor Park's Plant-a-Row for the Hungry program. This recognition from the National Gardening conference is thanks to her dedication and the hard work.
Don't forget to get outside and explore all that Westmoor Park has to offer in each season of the year.
